A Polish manufacturer of yacht furniture was looking for a solution that would be mounted on the back of the chair and would move its backrest back and forth. An important selection criterion in this case was the linear design of the actuator, which would allow it to be mounted into the chair in an almost invisible way. Since the armchair will be mounted on the outer deck of the yacht, the manufacturer wanted it to be fully adapted to external weather conditions.
Solution
The linear design of electric actuators from the Danish manufacturer Concens is perfect for projects where the installation space for these components is limited. In addition, they are tested to IEC 60529 to ensure reliability, virtually maintenance-free operation and protection against water ingress. All these advantages influenced the selection of the ICON35 model for use in a yacht chair. The customer chose a model with a built-in controller, which also allowed him to save space for additional electronics. Additionally, the actuator is entirely made of materials (AISI316) used in difficult weather conditions.
