Due to their design and operating principle, KappaSense linear encoders are used in laser cutting applications, medical equipment – such as patient tables in MR machines, medical robots. They are also often used in transport systems in semiconductor manufacturing, and are mounted on linear screw modules and linear motors for accurate measurement.
Key advantages of KappaSense linear encoders include installation flexibility – they can be easily integrated into existing systems. In addition, integration is facilitated by simplicity of construction – the encoders consist of only two components: a scale and a readhead. Series with a wireless readhead are also available. In addition, capacitive encoders are characterized by a lack of sensitivity to magnetic fields and resistance to typical contaminants in the working environment, such as dust, grease or oil, as well as to scratches.
